Local Garden Walk to be held on June 12
WHO: The public is invited to attend the Garden Walk, hosted by the Munroe-Meyer Guild, a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities through fundraising for the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Munroe-Meyer Institute.
WHAT: The Munroe-Meyer Guild's 43rd Garden Walk features five fantastic Omaha gardens that individuals can stroll through to view unique and creative displays in landscaping, plants, flowers and water features. Master gardeners and vendors also will be present at some of the gardens.
WHERE: Individuals can tour the following gardens at their leisure.

WHY: Proceeds from the event benefit the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute for children and adults with developmental disabilities. In the past, funds have supported:
- gait training to improve walking in children with cerebral palsy
- stipends for graduate student preparing to teach children with disabilities
- social skills training for children and adolescents with severe social impairments

Day of event tickets: $18
(Children under 5 get in free; no strollers are allowed in the gardens).
