On the heels of their split, Miley Cyrus has released a breakup song that reveals some juicy details about their relationship. In the first verse of “Slide Away,” Miley sings about a love that has “turned to dust.”
In recent days it’s been said that Miley was tired of Liam partying and the lines, “I want my house in the hills / Don’t want the whiskey and pills.” seems to confirm that she was fed up.
The chorus may give fans a clue about their recent living arrangements with Liam going “back to the ocean” which could mean he’s living in their Los Angeles home or in Australia and Miley heading “back to the city lights.”
Miley also captures the evolution of their relationship from their 2009 movie, The Last Song to their 2012 engagement as she sings, “Move on, we’re not seventeen / I’m not who I used to be / You say that everything’s changed / You’re right, we’re grown now”
