IHOP is taking full advantage of the viral trend of pancake cereal.

The trend of creating “Pancake Cereal” by pan frying tiny pancake batter bits, tossing it into a cereal bowl, and drowning it in syrup has become a social media sensation on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Pancakes are delicious and people love them.

Now where does IHOP come in with all of this? The brand has been working on releasing a line of cereal pancakes for some time. They were quietly working on a cereal concept called “Panflakes” that was originally set to launch in late March 2020.

However, with COVID-19 keeping everyone inside, that idea got shelved until the brand could further develop the recipe.

But talk about perfect timing.
