Memorial Park Concert And Fireworks Show

June 28 @ 4:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Mark your calendars – the popular summer concert at Memorial Park is back for 2024, featuring Irish rock band Inhaler and headliner Roger Daltrey of The Who!

Produced by the City of Omaha and sponsored by the Omaha Parks Foundation, the City of Omaha’s Memorial Park Concert will be on Friday, June 28th. The concert officially kicks off with the National Anthem at 6:30pm andends with a firework spectacular set to launch at 10pm.

“This concert is a highlight of Omaha’s summer event line-up and a true gift to our city’s residents,” said Mayor Jean Stothert. “This concert is made possible through the collaboration of multiple city departments, and there’s nothing quite like seeing the entire Omaha community come together to enjoy the show as a result.”

With an impressive career spanning over six decades, Roger Daltrey is an enigmatic performer, impressing crowds with his high on-stage energy and musical talent. Daltrey has excelled as both band member and solo performer. Two of The Who’s albums have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and seven of their albums were included on Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list – more than any other act with the exception of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones, and Bruce Springsteen. As a solo artist, Daltrey has released 10 albums. His most recent solo album, the critically acclaimed As Long as I Have You, was released in 2018.

The night’s special guest, Inhaler, is quickly becoming one of the breakthrough bands of the decade. Hailing from Dublin, this indie-rock quartet features singer and guitarist Elijah Hewson, guitarist Josh Jenkinson, bassist Robert Keating, and drummer Ryan McMahon. Most recently, the band has performed at several summertime festivals like the Glastonbury Music Festival, Lallapalooza Chicago, and the Ohana Festival. In 2023, Inhaler opened for Artic Monkeys on the mainland European leg of their international tour.

As in past few years, local musicians will be featured via video throughout the day and between the sets. Several bands will also receive prestigious pre-show video slots in lieu of a local band opening this year’s show. In partnership with KPAO Public Television a select number of bands will be offered studio time to create a video.

The fireworks show accompanying the concert is consistently one of the largest shows in the region – the show will be accompanied by a unique musical soundtrack from Classic Rock 105.9.

“Each year this concert is a special day for the City of Omaha,” Matthew Kalcevich, the Director of Parks,

Recreation, and Public Property. “It’s a fun way to highlight some of the best things about Omaha – – our sense of community, our vibrant events and our beautiful parks and outdoor spaces.”

The event is professionally managed by local firm VGA and is sponsored by the City of Omaha, Douglas County, the Omaha Parks Foundation, Classic Rock 105.9, and Security National Bank. For more information, visit www.MemorialParkConcert.com and follow the concert on Facebook and Instagram.
