Like many places, Space X also has several job opportunities available. The private aerospace company founded by Elon Musk is not only looking for Launch Quality Inspectors and Software Engineers with Top Secret Clearance, they’re also trying to fill over a dozen food service positions at both its Hawthorne, California headquarters and at its south Texas launch site, which it also refers to as “Starbase.”
One of the jobs that SpaceX listed on its Careers page is described as a “Spaceport Mixologist.” The list of preferred skills includes previous restaurant work, “experience preparing handcrafted cocktails in a resort environment,” and experience making beverages to accompany a themed menu.
Last October, Musk shared three pictures from the site, including a cocktail with a paper umbrella and a slice of pineapple that he said was from the “Tiki Bar.” (When someone responded to ask how the Tiki Bar “fit in” at the Spaceport, Musk replied “I mean, ya gotta have a tiki bar.”)
That’s actually our restaurant, but SpaceX is building a futuristic bar at the top of the high bay with 360 degree windows & a glass floor looking down on the rocket factory

Although the Starbase’s restaurant and bar will just be for SpaceX employees and contractors (at least for now — Musk has hinted on Twitter that he’d like to eventually welcome members of the public to the site), this isn’t Musk’s only recent foray into the foodservice world. Earlier this summer, Tesla filed a trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for “restaurant services, pop-up restaurant services, self-service restaurant services [and] take-out restaurant services.”
Why not apply?
