T-Mobile Released Its Own 5G-Inspired Gin | Kayla

Say hello to this unusual collaboration with T-Mobile, Heritage Distilling Company, and Jones Soda.

There are limited bottles of 5Gin and non-alcoholic 5Ginger Beer are on sale this week.

T-Mobile announced that, “to celebrate the country’s largest, fastest and most reliable 5G network” which now “covers 300 million people months ahead of schedule,” the company is releasing two branded beverages: an Ultra Capacity 5Gin and 5Ginger Beer.

The gin is named after T-Mobile’s Ultra Capacity 5G service while the ginger beer’s name references the more widely available Extended Range 5G. Limited quantities of both products will go on sale today, June 24, starting a 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT exclusively at t-mobile5gin.com.

“Last year, when we said we’d cover 300 million people with 5G by the end of 2021, people thought we were crazy. Now, we’ve blown by that goal six months ahead of schedule, and we won’t stop building the nation’s largest, fastest and most reliable 5G network,” T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said in a statement. “Now, we’re gonna celebrate in a way only T-Mobile would — by bottling the Un-carrier spirit.”

T-Mobile didn’t fire up a distillery in their headquarters. The gin comes courtesy of Heritage Distilling Company, billed as “a majority women-owned Pacific Northwest business, one of the country’s top premier craft distilleries and the most awarded in North America by the American Distilling Institute for the past seven years.” The results are “offered in a striking, premium black bottle” which start with Heritage’s Elk Rider Gin and then add “a distinctive combination of botanicals.” Bottles will be sold for $30, however, T-Mobile warns that additional shipping costs and taxes, as well as availability, will vary based on different state’s alcohol rules.

Meanwhile, the ginger beer was created in partnership with the well-known Jones Soda Company. The soft drink is described as “a premium and versatile non-alcoholic brew that tastes great on its own or as the foundation to your favorite cocktail or mocktail.” T-Mobile also points out that, unlike their 5Gin, the non-alcoholic 5Ginger Beer can be shipped anywhere nationwide.

And speaking of cocktails and mocktails, T-Mobile says they have you covered with those, too: Their site t-mobile5gin.com also offers a set of recipes including the 5G & T, a Magenta Martini, a non-alcoholic 5Ginger Mule, and more.

Do what you will with this info, just be 21 & up and please drink responsibly.
